"ecstasy/MDMA-using dance clubbers experience an 800% increase in cortisol levels" "3 months post cortisol levels were still 400% higher"

when i was 15-16 I was taking four 150ug tabs every week for 6 months

hard to draw any conclusions from this abstract.

the subjects could be using other drugs while being free from xtc and show elevated levels of cortisol compared to 'control'.

need full text to know what was done

what about acid and shrooms? I’ve taken them before but I’m not feeling that much lower inhib

Done MDMA 5 times, never noticed this tbh but I still stopped like 2 years ago cause there's no way the shit doesn't affect you long term

Lucky you, that's actually 1 of the reasons I quit aswell, I'd have fun parties but the next 2 days were hell.

400% is insane, in biostatistics it is extremely significant, if it was something like 100-150% then yeah possible, but 400% is way way off

I done 5-MAPB, releases shittons of seratonin, and i didn't have a comedown eaither. Muuh seratonin happiness hormone

youre welcome

And I hope you can get something out of that, and report back
measuring cortisol by looking at hair says something about the cortisol you experience over a longer period of time as an average:

light xtc users had 140% (just 40% more than normal) cortisol compared to control over a 3 month period.
for heavy users it was 400%

but the study looks flawed to me tbh. It looks like they merely asked: how often did you xtc in the last 3 months? oke you are a heavy-user, light-user and non-user.

obviously someone that never does xtc is likely to be the type that never goes clubbing, goes to bed at 12 and wakes up without lack of sleep in the morning, goes to parties less often, etc.

the type of person that does xtc every single week (heavy user) i mean I don't have to tell you that person's lifestyle is going to be very different lol

All you could say is that (heavy) xtc use is correlated with elevated cortisol levels.
Which is nothing more than a water is wet type conclusion.

only 40% more cortisol for light users+their lifestyle.

heavy users going to night-long raves atleast once a week, not really suprised seeing 400% compared to people that live normal quiet lives.

What is considered a light user?

What is considered a light user?
light recent ecstasy/MDMA users (one to four times in the past 3 months)
heavy MDMA users (more than five times in the past 3 months)

i doubt using mdma 2-3 times per year will have any long-term consequences tbh.

Its going to (multiple) parties/raves every single week with the added lack of sleep thats probably doing you more harm. atleast thats my guess

it means ur living a very unhealthy life yeah. prob doesnt matter if ur doing it for just a few months

do that for a few years, ull probably start seeing real damage. 400% cortisol for years, RIP.
