Most guys don't know anything about or even think about facial aesthetics, theyre not coping with a beard or trying to hide anything, they just grow the beard because they like it. I think a lot of people are projecting on to guys with beards. Not every guy with long hair or a beard or hat has some ulterior motive to hide his insecurity.

Every balding normie when they put on a hat will notice that they look better, initially, they'll think it's because it makes their eyes more noticeable or some shit. However, eventually, they'll realize it's because of their balding. Same goes for beard.

Very true. I was on a beard forum. I talked about the benefits of growing a beard as lower thirdlet and many of them didn't know that beards are good for hiding a recessed chin, a double chin or a weak jaw... They just like beards and that's it.
