🧪 What bee venom does (known mechanisms)

  • Melittin, apamin, and other peptides in bee venom cause localized inflammation, which recruits immune cells and triggers release of growth factors and cytokines.
  • This can lead to temporary swelling, increased blood flow, and sometimes a little fibroblast activity (cells that build collagen).
  • Some animal and cell studies show bee venom might modulate immune responses and reduce chronic inflammation, which indirectly could improve tissue health.
  • It has antibacterial and antioxidant effects that might help with certain skin conditions (eczema, acne, scars).

Could you hypothetically get bees and sting ur face for collagen and removing pimples, aswell as potential localised growth factors?
Aajnous said bee venom is good for calming nervous system aswell.

Just an interesting topic i thought id bring up for discussion.

People already do this, except they don't get bees to actually sting their faces and use some sort of serum / concentrate of the venom itself, since getting stung would give you some pretty bad bloating
