Collagen supplements are just amino acid supplements sold at a markup, after they are broken down in the stomach. Most people are deficient in collagen precursor amino acids (not enough meat in diet) so collagen supps work indirectly by boosting collagen synthesis via amino acid supplementation.

No protein structure bigger than a few amino acids survives the stomach acid. If you eat collagen it'll be broken down into its constituent aminos and then used by the body. The two most important amino acids to build the precursors to collagen are proline and glycine, which you need to eat animal foods to get adequate amounts. If you're already eating a meat/fish/egg heavy diet then collagen supplementation won't do anything. It's more useful to people eating degenerate standard or plant based diets.

And no, eating organs do not specifically rebuild that organ lmao, that's some African witchdoctor levels of broscience.

All amino acids will only be obtainable in adequate bioavailable amounts from animal foods. This principle is really important and why nutrition charts are largely wrong. Glycine (and proline too) can theoretically be obtained from a huge range of sources according to nutrition apps, but in concentrations and bioavailabilities appropriate for humans you're pretty much looking at animal foods.

This is why vegans eating massive amounts of protein commonly exhibit symptoms of protein deficiency. Don't listen to food apps, not just regarding protein but minerals and vitamins too.

This guy got a medical background and his youtube channel is purely focused on researching what works and what not for longevity.
There is also a other youtube channel and he also recommends it. It's a fitniss channel and he purely advice it for join recovery and lesser chance of injuries.


From what he can found there are studies that shows in a measured way in works.

animal proteins mog in the collagen world. You can try plant collagen and it might work too. Ill try it and see if I can go without the beef supps .

But yeah you can get a fucking gigantic bag for like 30 bucks on amazon, like i just eat a few mouthfulls of powder throughout the day, and it lasts like a month.
