My skin looks somewhat similar to the before pic. He did have sum skin care routine uploaded before but based jewed him so now he only promotes based skin care but i’m wondering how he was able to achieve this type of skin transformation.

Specific product names would be helpful to.

do not get it

literally just fix your diet then after a month or two then see if you still need products (99% chance you dont need)
i had my diet really locked in for a bit and my skin was decent, although i’ve fell back on it a bit cz no school during the summer i’m getting back on it. but diet won’t fix the shitty spots that sit and lurk after ykwim i’m looking for ways to get rid of the scars similar in the photo below

If you wanna achieve this- do a clean diet, eat clean, put spf50 since the sun can worsen your acne, put a moisturizer daily because your skin is very oily if you have acne, run accutane 40 mg, a cleanser twice a day (AM and PM).

any specific cleansers? i used to use cerave like a year or 2 ago and it just made it worse for me tbh. are there and specific acids I can use to get rid of the dark spots?, I think my dark spots similar to PIE (post inflammatory erythema) although i’m not to sure. it’s mostly similar to the before picture I showed in the post. i’m mainly just trying to get rid of those spots and get that sort of smooth texture he shows. also what tinted sun screens can i use that don’t leave those little white spots if yk what i mean. I used cicapair derma geeen solution, tiger grass color correcting treatment SPF 30 bc sum ppl recommended it on the forum and its not bad but sometimes it leaves a bit of a visible white spots, the tint is good for redness tho i do reccomend it to anyone who is struggling with redness on ur face.

summary: mainly trying to get rid of the spots/scars that were shown in the before picture which mine are similar to essentially trying to achieve that smooth texture. I ALREADY HAVE A GOOD DIET. not worried to much about the acne that comes on my face I can manage that, it’s just the spots and uneven skin texture it leaves after it’s gone.

I can’t name you specific brands since I’m not familiar with them.
Don’t use any acids, stick to the basics, your PIE should be good, it’s only a matter of time. But you can get vascular lasers to remove it faster.

Well frist off, I'm almost certain he's wearing a filter in the after, his skin looks pretty clear but it looks almost spotless, that's likely the result of the tiktok filter more than any skincare.

Anyway, just out of curiosity, what's your skin type? I mean obviously oily if your skin looks like that, but I'd like confirmation. Also, are you prone to sensitivity? And do you have any previous experience with skincare?

You need to try and exfoliate once a week minimum but more like twice a week to balance skin texture. There aren't many products that can help with your acne scars that aren't very expensive. You might want to look.into fixing your gut microbiome with prebiotics if you are able to buy them but if not trying and eat free rented foods and ask chatgpt what goods timely with that. And to keep the clear look younger to use hyaluronic acid and use suncream daily. @enchanted_elixir does a good thread

Completely agree with the fact he is either using a filter or at least make up

I watched some videos so i can make sure I say the right skin type and I think I have combination with normal/dry and oily it’s kind of hard to tell if u could link a thread that can defentively kind of help me figure out my skin type that would be helpful. its more oily in the t-zone (nose) mainly but like dry/normal everywhere else. My skin isn’t to sensitive. My main experience with skin care is trention and benzoyl peroxide. trention works but it makes my skin a bit sensitive. benzoyl peroxide does wonders for getting rid of the acne but sometimes leaves a spot there and if i use it to much throughout the week i can notice my skin texture getting noticeably worse (larger pores & more redness).
thx for the help.

i don’t really think the tiktok filter fully removes it because u can still lowk see certain small spots that he has in sum videos or his lives. but he was def able to get rid of those lines n dark spots from what it seems unless he is using makeup.

could u pls link me the thread.

So, yeah, let's start with your foundation:
  1. A cleanser, obviously. One for combination skin, I'd just use a foaming one that's very gentle, no actives, as to not make your dry zones worse, but still remove the oil from your T-zones. Probably only at night, you can just use water in the AM (your natural oils are there for a reason).
  2. Sunscreen, if you aren't using this and using tretinoin you're doing something wrong. Sunscreen is a must if you going out anywhere past the morning or before sunset.
  3. You mention tretinoin works, but it leaves you sensitive and yeah, that's kinda normal, tretinoin is pure retinoic acid so it's both super effective but super irrating. But it depends on how persistent the irritation is, if you're new to retinoids (which I'd say is less than 2 months or so) then your skin may not be fully retinoid adapted yet, if you're past that point but tretinoin still causing irritation, then it might be best if you cut your losses and downgrade to Adapalene 0.1%.

Why? Because no matter how good and effective tretinoin is, if your skin just can't handle it, and it's constantly inflammed, that's just gonna worsen it's effectiveness and potentially lead to hyperpigmentation (if you don't already have it).
  4. Benzoyl peroxide is another compound that's massively irritating and drying, nasty combo along with tretinoin. I would continue using it as tolerated since it's clearly working for you.
Now, about the specific concerns you mentioned with the fine lines and dark spots:
  1. The fine lines will be fully resolved by the retinoid, either tretinoin if you continue usage and get adapted, or adapalene if you choose to downgrade, it will take a while until massive changes in your collagen occur, maybe a couple of months, but it'll eventually get rid of those completely.
  2. The dark spots are kind of tougher, because if they're acne marks or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, the retinoid can help, but it almost never solves the issue completely. If it is indeed some form of acne scarring or hyperpigmentation, you need to introduce an anti-pigment active no matter what until the issue is resolved, the gold standard is hydroquinone, which you would use with the retinoid in the PM in almost the same fashion and mixing the two. There exist alternatives such as vitamin C, kojic acid, niacidamide and azelaic acid, and I can elaborate on these if you want to, but Hydroquinone on a lower concentration (4-6%) sounds like it's best here.

Here's something I would NOT do:
  1. It doesn't look that as of now you're a great candidate for any kind of acids, AHAs or BHAs, your skin is already triggered and inflamed, this is a no-no as of the moment in my opinion.
  2. Not use sunscreen, lol.

yh if u could elaborate on the dark spot acids that would be nice. Also if u could point out any specific products for the cleansers and acids that would be helpful to. and how would i make a routine out of this throughout my week bc im obviously assuming certain things are AM/PM products and certain products can’t be used the same day. thx for da help.
