a lot of people in this forum believe that a high iq will help you succeed but it really doesn't unless your newton level iq
in the field of science and mathematics you'll just be working with others and never get anything named after yourself, instead its after the group, even if you do most of the work. you wont make as much money, no intelligent solo researcher, instead just teamwork research in groups
in business its less often that theres a self-made person, instead you succeed because you already know people
i'd say from the 50th percentile to 90th percentile, these people often find themselves to be smarter then average but the actual distribution of human iq is very tight so even if your smarter then 80% of people, its not by any large margin (for example 120 iq might mean your in the 95th (?) percentile. but it doesn't mean your 95% smarter or 20% smarter, in reality its more like your 5% smarter)
these people delude themselves into thinking by percentile, that they are significantly smarter then they really are i'd say 90th-100th percentile is when these people either regain awareness or just understand this, but even then it minimally helps them
its only top 99.9th percentile iq that really benefits from being incredibly intelligent and breaking ground in their field whether its business, science, math, history etc
im not denying its an advantage, but its much less then people on this forum really think it is
