Being in CS classes vs Finance/economic classes is like night and day.

My major requires a lot of technical and finance knowledge so I end up in STEM classes and with Econ and Finance majors.

The differences are so insane they are both highly male dominated but polar opposites. I walk into my Finance class everyone is better dressed then me and I feel autistic. The average height in my classes was 6 foot most of the guys are white and good looking.

Go to my CS class in jeans and a long sleeve best dressed guy in class. I sat next to a guy who looked like Chris Chan and ironically wore a sonic shirt everyday. I try to talk to people and I feel like I'm some sort of NT god. Average height is 5'7 and half the kids are East Asian or Indian.


This is why I want to be in Fintech too NT to code 10 hours a day in my basement too autistic to be a finance chad.

CS by far... Finance or Accounting is still hard if you go to a good school. It requires quite a lot of math but CS is much harder.

Had the same experience. STEM courses are incel factories - majority of them are ricecels and currycels . Tech Hubs like San Francisco are incel headquarters whereas Finance Hubs like New York and London are Chad headquarters - such is life. Truth is most of these guys aren’t geniuses maybe high IQ sure but they probably just have more experience in the field. I am mates with one such guy and he learnt everything in high school before uni so everything was a breeze for him. Hee do assignments on the day they had to be handed in and he’d get full marks

I hate these tier lists because it really depends where you go. If you go to a good state school every class with real world applications is going to be hard relatively. Unless you take nonsense classes like underwater basket weaving if you take a class that puts you on track for a real world career it will be hard.

If someone told me they graduated with a math major at a college not on the top 100 list in the USA I would probably take any finance major from a good state or ivy league school more seriously

Not all coders are autists or weirdos. But I would say 2 in 3 are weirdos who only code and got in the place they did from coding daily. It also depends on the type of CS there are some people who never leave their basement just solving repetitive tasks all day ect.

Programming nowadays is RELATIVELY easy compared to other STEM fields. Programming in 2022 is also way easier than programming in 1980 was.

Bruh. We’re comparing the difficulty levels of different STEM careers. All of them take years to master, but some are harder than others. CS is one of the easy ones, if the goal is to just be something like a front-end web dev.
