i have a good corporate career now.

But i was still happier when all i did was smoke weed, watch tv and play video games. I mean i still went out to clubs and shit but mostly i just hung out in my room or hung out with my friends smoking weed.

I've always considered myself extremely lucky in that respect tbh. I've always had a massive passion and drive to work in the film and that's kept me from losing momentum in life cuz even when I'm not working for money I'm working on solo creative projects, so my mind is always on that passion. A lack of self-appointed purpose is the biggest soul killer in our generation imo

Like practical projects or just conceiving the idea?

In terms of the creative process, it just comes to me naturally and I just immediately start writing without planning. I'll have like 3 or 4 scenes in mind before starting and will string the script through those to create a full story.

In terms of practical, I've only ever made short films with other people hanging around my level in the industry. I do so by just befriending them in a work environment and then being like 'hey man i have this neat idea for a movie, you in???'. Each project demands like £800 but oftentimes everyone will just pitch in cuz it's coveted guerilla experience so none of that is a problem. It's mainly an initiative thing.
