yeah i’m socially retarded, have down syndrome tier coordination ability to the point i don’t know how to handle holding coins, and am overall awkward

but people have told me jokingly i have “aura”, and i’m “mysterious”, also been told that i’m interesting and women have told me theyll never meet someone like me, i’m different and i know i’m different, but i don’t think it’s bad aside from my inner struggle

for someone who only cares about how they’re being perceived or someone who values just being “eye candy” it’s actually good if ur not ugly

Being attractive and being ND is not a bad combo

Dnr the constant omnipresent mental agony is not worth the potential aura farming which only occurs if you have the looks to begin with anyways

its also funny how you say stop romanticizing ND, whatever that’s supposed to mean anyway

i’m not gonna be lying and saying it’s all cons with no pros, plenty of people have told me i carry a certain energy and many people tried to approach me to build a connection and such, i find that to be a good thing, no? but again, i myself am socially retarded so that’s a part of the cons

The problem for neurodivergent people isn't just social, although that can certainly be an issue, but I'm referring to life in general. Having a neurodivergent disorder can completely ruin your life, and it's difficult. Saying that "neurodivergent disorder is kinda cool" would be romanticizing it when, in reality, most disorders offer more disadvantages than advantages. That's why treatments and medications exist; people don't want to live like that.

it’s only really considered a disorder because it’s a minority, it’s just a different type of brain and it does have its pros, i wouldn’t consider it a disability like some people say

yes it can definitely ruin one’s life but if you learn how to handle it and also learn to embrace it you can certainly get thru life just fine, i’m a diagnosed ND and ofc i have A LOT of struggles, i’d be lying if i denied it, but i do think i’m kinda cool and i’m pretty different so fukk it we ball brah :feelsautistic:

also i know what i’m mentioning is MY own experience but again, it’s manageable and tolerable for the most part if u know what to do

it’s a neurotypical world that’s the only problem here, socially that’s the only con i could think of unless you’re a low functioning ND

The truth is that yes, many disorders offer advantages, but the current environment doesn't make them suitable in my opinion, but they can be part of your identity and you can move forward.

Being an autistic adult trying to function in the real world is a nightmare. I would definitely agree if things were catered more to my brain chemistry. Being an aspie rat is fun sometimes.

This is some impact in general life, i chatpgt this 2. Impact on Work or Studies:

Compulsions are often very time-consuming. For example, people may feel compelled to perform repetitive rituals, such as checking door locks or washing their hands repeatedly, which can interfere with concentration and productivity at work or school. They may also experience heightened anxiety that hinders performance.

3. Mental Health:

People with OCD often experience high levels of anxiety and stress, as the obsessions can be distressing. They may also experience depression or low self-esteem due to the negative impact OCD has on their daily lives. The frustration of not being able to control their thoughts or behaviors can increase emotional distress.

4. Time and Energy:

Compulsions can be very time-consuming, which can leave people feeling like they don't have enough time for other activities. This can create a cycle of exhaustion, where the person feels their rituals cannot be interrupted, which in turn increases anxiety.
