Im not religious personally, however its a great for ppl cuz it gives a false sense of hope cuz no matter what they're going through they can always cope with God and they wont be alone anymore, it gives a lot a motivation and happiness, if a lot of ppl didn't believe in God but had to continue to live their shitty miserable lives, there would be a lot more suicide and depression in this world

People overestimate how much "false hope" a religion can give, it can easily also induce you with torment and guilt for not being able to live up to those standards and is very much a struggle for a lot of religious people that take it seriously, it does give meaning to life ofc but its not really some sort of false hope and cope as people make it out to be as it is a very serious commitment
