I think women often see shyness as a sign of disinterest, while I believe that its a sign of interest.
What do you think?

Yes, definitely! It's difficult because sometimes when shy people are interested they are more shy and showing that interest becomes nearly impossible because of anxiety for women as well.

Shyness makes women disinterested because it is fundamentally a lack of confidence.
They won't care how interested you are if you don't appeal to them

Having recently been with a shy guy (23M) and now dating an extremely confident and outgoing man (22M) this is true. It’s a world of difference and even comparing first dates, with Shy Guy it felt like I was doing 70% of the work in carrying conversation, flirting, etc. With current partner, first date was 50/50, both completely engaged with each other and expressing equal interest in the same way. I think it definitely comes down to a person’s perceptions and how they perceive shyness or outgoing personalities, because both have different interpretations. Some think shyness is a sign of true interest, that because the risks are higher, more anxiety comes because you don’t want to mess it up. Shyness can also be perceived as disinterest but often I think it’s clear to separate the two (but that’s just me). Outgoing personalities and confidence can be received as just that but can also be interpreted as pride and conceit. Again, it’s tricky and all boils down to the individual.
Sorry if that was word salad, I’m not quite used to writing paragraphs on my phone!

I’m a woman and I see it as a sign of interest too. I find it cute when I start dating a guy and I can tell he’s a little shy/nervous

I’m a lot more attracted to men on the shyer/sweeter side than the confident/loud type. but I’m shy too, so sometimes that can make things awkward if we’re both too quiet

Yes!! I love shy guys!! Everyone always says women want loud obnoxious guys, but that is NOT true! We are just like you guys, we want someone who is kind, caring, and fun to be with. I think its kind of cute when a guy is shy :p:p:love::love::love:
