Reading a book on love shyness. It was a study conducted on 500 men ages 18-50 who were heterosexual and virgins. They were classed as love shy because they had a great fear of approaching women and this played into their perpetual virginity. One interesting thing that the researcher found was that all of the love shy men were low status in same sex peer groups. They were typically disliked and disrespected by other men.

He compared them against men who were not love shy and not virgins. The non virgin men typically could fit in with their same sex peer group. And many of the non virgin men were looked up to and well respected by other men. But all of them could at least fit in and be respected by a same sex peer group.

On the other hand, this didn't hold true for women. A woman could be low status in a same sex peer group of other women but still be popular with men. But the researcher found ZERO cases of the opposite, a man who was low status among his male peer group but popular with women.

So basically being good in social situations is more important for men than it is women.

What does successful in same sex peer group mean?

Like you have to be group leader or what? How can women tell?

It means being able to fit in and be respected by the group and not be an outcast. Not necessarily be the group leader, although that can be the case. The study also found that love shy virgin men were much more likely to report being bullied by their male peers than the non virgin men. Many of the non virgin men reported never being bullied and some were even bullies themselves.

I don't know how women can tell, but the researcher did find that all of the love shy virgin men typically had difficulty fitting in with their male peer group. Correlation may not be causation, but a strong correlation is there.

It still boils down to your looks/status/money - even if you have great social and talking skills, you can still have low status in a group of guys, because you're short/ugly/bald/poor/etc. - you end up being the butt of all jokes, the group's jester, no one is taking you seriously, etc.

Food For Thought.

How about this, you got two peer groups.

One which is an A-tier rich kids zoomer group. The other is a B-tier not so zoomerly group. Now here comes the best part, I am an outcast in group A but fit in well with group B and they do care for me.

What now? Be an outcast in group A but gain all clout or be joyous in group B but it’s not the best of all groups at uni?

The researcher did touch on this in the book. Basically he says that it's important for a man to be accepted into some peer group. As long as that peer is not a group of "losers" i.e. other love shy virgin men

I heard ER was ruthlessly bullied and had trouble fitting in with other guys. I think had he been accepted by his male peers, things would have been different for him when it came to girls.

Be tall, dominant and goodlooking.

Short, ugly = lower value in the group.

I cannot cope with being an incel and a beta bitch

Hang out with blacks and hispanics , and those white chad peer groups will mean nothing

You’ll learn that what you previously considered “nt” was nothing

This too if you’re short you’ll be bullied even if you’re tough

It’s impossible to communicate with them. It’s like they’re speaking at mach speeds

In college he kept changing rooms because he didn't fit anywhere, he mostly considered the others to be beneath him - too dumb or too uneducated, he envied jocks because they regularly got hot girls, but considered them too stupid and ignorant, he also didn't want to associate with nerds or intellectual types because they had no success with girls.
He was put in a room with some Latinos and was almost bullied, then he stayed with a short, chubby, affable guy that would occasionally bring girls to bang, but he considered them ugly and not good enough for him.
Then, the dorm put him to complete a questionnaire, to find out more about him and match him with people with similar interests and background.
So they put him with these people:

Obviously, this made him insanely angry, he really hated those people because they were just like him, so when he finally went ER, he killed his roommates up close and personal with a knife, he even planned first to torture them in horrific ways, but didn't have enough time for this, the rest of his massacre was rather disorganized and unfocused.

But the issue here is if you are some shy nerd, these groups of people will be more ruthless to you. Of course they will force you out of your shyness but you'll end up acting like some fake street thug just to impress them

Many "mother hens" in female groups have high status within their friends and as a result other women defer to them. However these girls are mostly single as they tend to be of lower looks levels than their other girlfriends
