Being tan is overrated

I don't understand PSL obssession with MT2 and getting as tan as possible. I think having some color beats being superr pale for a good chunk of people but if you have dark hair + blue eyes phenotype I think it benefits you to stay pale or not overtly tan. I am open to being proven wrong but I think the individuals in pics related wouldn't look better with a tan (maybe gynllenhal). I think pale is a failo for nordic phenos maybe but basically every other phenotype benefits from being a bit lighter complexion.

I can only think of Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt off the top of my head. I feel like all the big time moggers are always pale with blue eyes and dark hair.
