It's not the jealousy. It's the endless comparison and reminder you're the worse sibling.
Imagine being the brother of C.Ronaldo. You are not even a division three footballer. Your life is still probably better off thanks to the 0.01% donation of his net worth - which your mother probably had to vouch on your behalf. But you are always seen as the inferior one. The irrelevant one. You are not known by your own name - you are known as Cristiano's brother.
It's different from being a parent. You can be proud your son is successful, smart or rich. But as a sibling the expectation and sense of worthlessness and the constant reminder you didn't get any of the good genes must be brutal.
