Being undesirable is so brutal

I notice the brutality in so many little interactions. If someone is taking too long to order at a counter, I get irritated so quickly. But if they’re hot, then it’s fine. I even like that they’re hanging around me. Their presence is always welcome. Nothing they do is rude. If someone drops something, I’m infinitely more likely to pick it up for them if they’re hot. If not, I’m looking for the quick exit from any interaction. I’ll be polite to people who are unfuckable, but I’m doing the bare minimum to be considered a decent person and anything else feels like charity. Noticing how many reactions to people change is always brutal to me.
