It inhibits adrenergic receptors related to the "fight or flight" response, therefore it makes you calm even in stressful situations. Take 40mg and you will be good.

They are addictive, they are hard to quit because the withdrawal is followed by intense anxiety. So many people take benzos everyday because when they try to stop they are fucked by severe anxiety rebound, making them dependent to it.
They build tolerance quickly, you will notice that it will stop working in less than a month and after that you will need to add more benzos or increase the dosage. Eventually you will be taking 3 different benzos at maximum dosage to get the effects you used to get when you first started.
Benzodiazepines abuse are linked to development of Alzheimer's disease at early ages.
Psychiatrists only prescribe benzos at very rare occasions, they would never prescribe it for social anxiety.
