Messy hair, creates alot of Volume. Which is not good if you have a disproportionally wide upper head already. Makes look, if a a dude has a fucking balloon sized (in width) upper head. With such a type of face, I would assume keeping short hair on the sides, is best for that face shape, so to not add any extra width perception.

For all other face, I think that messy hair style is good/okay.

Messy hair on top can suit everyone, what should change is the sides.

Upper third dominant (your examples): Get a fade on the sides.

Lower third dominant (my OP examples): Keep length on the sides

You can cover up Norwood yes, but wouldn’t work once you reach NW2.5/3
