Kaiser or Cigna probably. United is categorically (as in a study confirms this) resistant to accepting jaw surgery claims in general.

Aetna's pretty good imo. Some people have gotten approved on Reddit within 24 hours of prior authorization request.

Try to get a PPO if you can. Let's you go out of state.

If all else fails, go abroad to Europe

There's an easy way to get it for free as well. No job required.

Aite I will explain since 99% can’t be fucked to follow these steps including myself.

You can get Medi-Cal which is free health insurance for residents of California.

Kaiser is an option that you can pick once you sign up if you’ve been a member within 6 months or something like that. Meaning you’d only have to be active for one month within the past 6 months, or you currently live with or have a family member with active Kaiser plan.

So you pay one month, cancel after 30 days, call Medi-Cal or…

If you don’t want to go through Medi-Cal, you can also sign up directly with Kaiser for free or with a subsidy if you qualify through another program called Kaiser Community Healthcare program.

Then you go to an ortho or sleep doctor and they can make a referral to the Kaiser surgeon.

Also the ortho or sleep doctor you choose for the referral can make a difference. Surgeon too of course.

Theres a long ass waitlist once you’re approved and you Still need $ for orthodontics too 99% of the time. Some may not need it though.

So technically it could be free or very low cost. You could legit be homeless and get it if you know how to navigate the system.
