been using a leave-in conditioner with oils and it doesnt feel like it do anything. Hair gets frizzy and dries easy anyway

Maybe its better to use a protein/keratin leave-in conditioner?

ive used this one

For hydration, if you don't want it to be dry, experiment with Argan Oil.
Luca Santangelo is a good channel to watch on youtube, although he has straight hair.
Also this guy is a massive mogger

Shea Moisture has the best leave in condioner

I like 100% marula oil from The Ordinary to tame frizzy and dry hair. It is extremely light like oily water and doesn't stain bedding or headgear. I apply it to slightly damp clean hair and work through with a comb or my fingers. Then I ruffle it up and go to bed to have Nessman style hair the next morning.

It hydrates perfectly, gives that notable shampoo commercial shine, and lasts several days (I wash my head only once a week).

Give it a try.
