INTRODUCTION

GT20029 is a novel topical PROTAC (Proteolysis Targeting Chimera) compound designed to selectively degrade the androgen receptor (AR). Rather than inhibiting androgen production or competitively blocking receptor binding, it promotes ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation of AR, thereby reducing androgen receptor signaling activated by dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and testosterone.

STUDY 1

GT20029 was tested in a Phase I randomized, placebo-controlled study in healthy volunteers with single and multiple ascending topical doses, and it showed good local tolerability, no serious safety signals, and minimal systemic absorption in blood, with only mild, comparable-to-placebo adverse events and no clinically significant lab, ECG, or hormonal abnormalities reported

STUDY 2

A Phase II randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of topical GT20029 in 180 men with androgenetic alopecia showed that after 12 weeks, treatment significantly increased target area hair count compared with placebo, with the best regimens producing about 6–7 more hairs/cm² than placebo and also improving hair shaft thickness in some groups, while safety and tolerability were similar to placebo, supporting androgen receptor (AR) degradation as a viable mechanism for promoting hair growth.

CONCLUSION

GT20029 is a great product if you want to grow your hair, especially when you are dealing with hair loss, and it surpasses the effects of oral/topical minoxidil.

The same company ‘Kintor’ released pyrilutamide which showed great results in phase 2 but failed to reach the expectations in phase 3 trials. It does work but isn’t that effective. So the company is not really a bunk, but again don’t expect too much.
