I always thought Whatever 1999 (movie) was very underwhelming compared to the book.

It does nail few scenes really good (Nightclub for example) but more than half of the book is not even there lol (no past with veronique, no follow up dinner scene with the priest, harel is far less misogynistic and unhinged etc)

not even that the director completely changed the ending which I found abrupt.
