Best suit color?

Got a ball soon, I fuck with black as im very pale with pretty blue eyes, anyways ive always been told that black is very reminiscent of a funeral suit colour as it tends to be the colour you wear to a down occasion as such, just wondering what color you would recommend. Thanks brothers.
