Most parents wont get u braces if u say your recessed and your face is asymmetrical. My teeth aren't all aligned and i have a overbite but that's pretty much it. Best methods to convince them? If i wanted to i could pay for them myself but might as well try my best a and leech a lil while I'm young.

Just tell them you have an overbite and your teeth aren't aligned?

That's literally what braces are for.

You have to convince them that you aren't getting braces for aesthetics.

Focusing on health rather than appearance is the best way to persuade them. Tell them that your overbite is causing jaw pain, chewing difficulties, or uneven tooth wear (even if it's minor), and that dentists say that untreated misalignment can eventually result in gum recession or TMJ problems. Ask to see an orthodontist for a free consultation and offer to split the cost or pay a portion of it from a part-time job. A professional's statement that "braces will prevent future dental problems" is far more convincing than your own statement that "my face is asymmetrical."

If you truly have an overbite and misaligned teeth, then there should be some insurance.
