I started noticing my hairline receding about a year ago. Recently it’s been difficult to style. I attached a picture below to see what we’re dealing with.

I hopped on Finastride (1mg daily) 2 weeks ago w/ Biotin in the morning. As well as topical foam minoxidil 5% (2x daily) about a week ago.

I also started taking shampoos and conditions designed to target DHT on the scalp congaing palmetto and niacinamide.

I’m afraid that within 6 months to a year all my hair will fall out even before the medications start working.

I’d like to get a prescription for minoxidil oral. What is the best way to get one? I got to finastride from an online doctor but minoxidil seems more challenging to find. Also, anything else I should incorporate in my routine to regrow/prevent future hair loss? All advice is appreciated

Is that really you, how old are you?

finasteride starts effectively working very quickly, no need for buildup in the system like dut
Statistically, the only thing you will need is fin

at first, fin will cause a rather massive shed - this period can last up to a half a year (for me), for some it's shorter, and for some even longer

you will def see a decrease in density, so don't panic, remember that statistically fin works very well for almost everyone

When did you start seeing results?

brutal shit.

id recommend getting ur hormones checked before all that stuff. you shouldnt be balding at this age + when u start ingesting research chemicals its not possible to check ur real hormones anymore (whcih was the original cause)

so instead of u fucking the original problem hormones

your gonna be fighting an uphill battle with a concoction of research chemicals in ur bloodstream which still wont stop it

It's literally prime example of early onset male pattern baldness.
This is purely genetic and has nothing to do with hormones or anything else.

I don't know how knowing your DHT levels will help you really, some people with high DHT levels don't bald and some bald with even low DHT levels - it's more about the genetic sensitivity of hair follicles to the DHT

sure, knowing it is nice, but if it's something not easily accessible for OP, it's not worth to delay taking fin
Unfortunately and I’m 20

around half a year in my shed stopped, and my density is probably improving unnoticeably

If you wanna be a tweaker and save a lot of money, you can just drink the topical minoxidil

But everything you’re doing is good, you just need to give it sometime, fin works very well, but It’s only been 2 weeks, and you’ll experience a shed in the beginning just like @Mongrelcel said.

Not worth it you can buy oral minoxidil from alldaychem pretty easily. The dose for topical is so insanely high relative to the oral tabs a small tweak, 1 ml contains over 100mg of that shit, going >5mg can cause unwanted heart sides

I honestly don't understand how people still believe this is just "genetics". Why would we have evolved all of these years to have a condition that drastically lowers our chances of reproductive success.

Because male pattern baldness and the cause is scientifically very well understood, and doesn't really care whether you believe it or not

Please. If it was very well understood don't you think they'd have a better pill that doesn't have a chance of killing your dick.
Anyway mine's regrowing naturally and I'll disclose what I did once it's all come back.

You're contradicting yourself lol.
Male pattern baldness and the *cause* is very well established and understood.
Some people genetically have hair follicles sensitive to DHT.
Finasteride inhibits DHT, which causes the shedding to stop, but does so at a systemic level, which again can cause libido problems and what not, because surprise, DHT makes you a man.
There's nothing else to it than that.

Should I take fin if I am not 100% sure I'm balding? I am noticing hair coming off when I run my hand through my hair etc, but I haven't noticed a difference in my hairline. There is baldness on my maternal side which has me concerned.

there exist specialists who can tell you for sure

I understand that and I'm not denying people have DHT issues. What I'm saying is that there's something very wrong with modern lifestyles causing people to go bald beyond what would happen naturally. Why is everyone's DHT so high their body is shedding one of the most crucial pieces to being attractive to the opposite sex? The whole point of evolving was to increase our reproductive odds, so surely something isn't right when we have highschoolers nowadays showing signs of MPB. Why do humans go bald at a rate far, far higher rate beyond any other animal on the entire planet? You see they push this narrative as if it's just a human trait for people to have DHT so high they go bald, but it doesn't make any sense why that's a biological feature as they say.

I'm pretty sure this has been the case for decades

Big shit. We've been homo sapiens for 300,000 years. Mere decades lines up perfectly with our lifestyles going to shit as well.

because humans spend the vast majority of their evolutionary ancestry having limited lifespans and procreating at half the age that's normal today., we never selected for it, because we died before it mattered, or already reproduced/settled at that point.

We did have limited lifespans due to being killed by predators, environment, starvation, etc. But 20s is still young compared to what people can survive to without the above factors being at play. Once you hit middle-aged and above then sure.

humans historically reproduced at like 15~ and are nearing the end of their natural reproductive age by the time most guys start balding.

Mice 1280p

Looks like they found a cure to baldness in mice at least. Same aged mice with treated ones on the left.

I wonder if female mice view balding mice the same way we view balding humans

They probably do but mother nature was a little more fair with mice allowing females to bald some up top at about the same rate as males.

Either you have a long road of fighting ahead to keep your follicles or you reincarnate. Or you go to Turkey.

I would blast duasteride if i was balding. Better to have hair and be impotent, than a bald disgrace.
