With my recent thread on the benefits of nicotine I was obviously asked what the best method was to take it (thus running into the least possible illnesses/problems) . So I analyzed four main methods :feelshmm:

1) Cigarettes

2) Vaping

3) Snus

4) Nicotine patches/gum (NRT)

Only the negative aspects, impact on society, and cost, have been analyzed! YOU CAN FIND THE BENEFITS OF NICOTINE IN MY FIRST THREAD!

1) Our beloved cigarettes

Image 2026 02 01T114729567

My fav cigarettes :)

Health problems: according to this study tobacco is the cause of 25% of cancer deaths and more than 50% of lung, esophageal, etc. cancers (always given a high dose). Therefore, 1 in 4 cancers is caused by cigarettes.

Impact on society: Even though smoking has become rarer than it was twenty years ago, it has remained a fairly widespread behavior and has been proven to be a key to starting conversations/friendships between smokers. Definitely an "aurafarm" method in the eyes of some

Cost: Cigarette prices have recently increased, and a pack now ranges between 5 and 7 euros, bringing many smokers' annual spending to more than 2,000 euros. Nothing too expensive, in my opinion.

2) Vapes

1769943871870

I don't vape and that's the reason:

Health problems: Vapes have always been considered a safer alternative to cigarettes but in reality they are even worse... Vapes are much more addictive than cigarettes because they reach a much younger audience, decrease concentration, testosterone, cause depression, decrease bone density and highly inflame the body.

Impact on society: Vapes are viewed poorly by both non-smokers and cigarette smokers because they see vapes as something for sissies and gays. :lul:

Cost: If we really want to find a positive side to vapes it is that they cost on average between 10 and 50 euros and are designed to last a long time leading to not spending so much annually (1.5k max)

3) Snus

1769944531335

Health problems: The most common and significant problem with snus is receding gums and poor dental hygiene. However, to be honest, this is easily avoidable if you don't use snus with a high nicotine dose more than three or four times a day. I started using snus a year and a half ago, and according to the dentists I've visited, my gums aren't experiencing any problems. :feelshah:

Impact on society: Snus is not a very widespread phenomenon in the world so people often don't even know what you're putting in your mouth and don't care at all
.

Cost: Snus are usually very cheap, ranging from 3 to 6 euros. It's not a problem for your wallet.

4) Nicotine patches/gum (NRT)

1769945066752

Health problems: NRT carries fewer risks than all nicotine sources, leading only to mild and rare problems such as headaches, insomnia and dry mouth, although it can be highly addictive.

Impact on society: NRT is a way to quit smoking, it helps society greatly and is seen well especially by non-smokers.

Cost: NRT is a therapy to stop smoking so it does not have a precise price, it could cost you less annually than smoking cigarettes or it could cost more.

That's it! Bye <3

i dont understand why patches and gum are at the bottom of the list?
seems like the best method tbh
is nicotine itself harmful to soft tissue?

i agree vapes are more addicting but idk on the fact that they decrease concentration since nicotine generally helps you focus and the effects are real, nicotine spikes dht production so idk also it shouldn't lower test, can it cause depression? idk maybe but idk how that could be possible except if someone got heavily addicted, decreased bone density is generally a nicotine problem not a vape problem, possibly could inflame the body that's true, but imo what ur describing is a vape addiction problem and a lot of the symptoms you described are general nicotene side effects, except the fact you look like a fag while smoking it imo it is a better alternative than smoking and is less harmful for your test since you've got a lot of the shit a trad cig has reduced like less heavy metals, tar etc etc and so on here's a shitty summary table but the format is fucked I'll fix it in a sec

Good point, yes, both obviously raise DHT due to nicotine, but from the studies I've consulted, it turns out that cigarettes increase testosterone while vapes don't. It's probably related to the chemicals in them. Smoke whatever you want. 🚬

I've been smoking cigars and cigarettes for 3 years and I've also tried vaping. I've been using snus for a year and a half and my hair has never had any problems.
