Best way to larp for a Herbst appliance?

Wanna get a Herbst appliance but need ideas on what to tell my ortho and I mean the best ideas. Can't just tell them I want to improve my symmetry pr what not but I wanna make sure my ortho agrees with me and doesn't make me sound like a dumbass infront of my parents.
