Is Beta carotene actually valid and how long does it take to acctually give you a tan? I wanted to try tanning beds but that shits ass and im not doing that and it gets sunny pretty late in my country. Anyone also got tips on which ones are good that you can buy in Europe?

It's valid. Will take 3-6 weeks and it's tan isn't the same as with the sun. Intake it from diet not supplements, you need a good antioxidant build up or you'll just nuke your tissues and see stunted results.

You just have to eat like 3-4 carrots, or you can split it up to get the many different kinds of carotenoids. Have a carrot, sweet potato, oranges, tomatoes, papayas, bell peppers, corn, etc throughout the week. It's different from the sun because it doesn't change the melanin content. It gives a small golden/yellow/red hue without working the same mechanism the sun does (the sun stimulates melanin production/distribution on your skin). You also need to balance your carotenoid intake with antioxidants which are commonly found in the same fruits and veggies that you will be eating. An imbalance in antioxidant reserve and carotenoids can cause your skin to look worse, which is why supplementation is not recommended. You'd take your supplement and go back to eating shitty foods for the day. Additionally, taking only one kind of carotenoid through supplementation is not ideal as the various types depend on each other to essentially balance each other out. Not taking the correct precautions will lead to an ashy yellow tone, bluey/sickly orange tone, and probably the weird look you're referencing.

Edit: Having this proper balance will also protect your skin from sun damage while allowing you to intake the benefits of vitamin d production and melanization. Unlike suncreen, carotenoids do not protect your skin from uvb/uva rays, instead they neutralize and contain the damage caused from free radicals created from uv rays. It's essentially sunscreen, but it allows you to tan and maintain a nice and even complexion on your skin. Like that of those rich athletic dudes who eat pristine diets and practically live outdoors playing football.

Damn okay i guess ill try it thanks for the advice. So i just have to eat 3-4 of carrot, sweet potatoe a day to balance it out or do i have 3-4 carrots on one day and on the next day 3-4 of sweet potatoes f.e. and just switch them every day?

Basically, you Mix them up in the same day or from day to day, have carrots one time, sometimes corn, others watermelon, or a sweet potato. The key is variety. (Sweet potatoes have the same carotenoid content as carrots (beta carotene), so you'd want to intake different kinds). To avoid all the scientific jargon, different coloured fruits/veggies have different carotenoids. You ate something orange? eat something red like watermelon or a tomato. Had red and orange? eat something green, or black, or yellow like corn. This way you have a variety diet which will get you all the carotenoids and essential vitamins you need for top tier skin. The more you have of one kind the more you should have of the others as well. It's like balancing on a tight rope.

Yeah, you're fine, I'd still put in a more varied diet tho. Add some watermelon or something
