There's this Asian retired quant I came across on YouTube and he does this thing called bursty spending.

Basically he lives in his car, eats goyslop, then a few times a month books a nice Airbnb, betabuxes a girl and eats at Michelin star restaurants so that he constantly gets a positive happiness feeling each month and doesn't get used to a higher standard of living.
