Worked as a waiter/waitress before?
Better looks = better tips.
I noticed an interesting trend.
Lower mm facial hair stubble, clean hair cut, whitened smile and moisturised skin has a clear correlation between tip amount.
Now, here are some studies regarding lower mm facial hair stubble and how woman rate this.
1. Dixson & Brooks (2013) – “The role of facial hair in women’s perceptions of men’s attractiveness, health, masculinity and parenting abilities”
2. Neave & Shields (2008) – “The effects of facial hair manipulation on female perceptions of attractiveness, masculinity, and dominance in male faces”
3. Dixson, Lee, et al. (2017) – “Facial hair affects perceptions of men’s age, health, and attractiveness in diverse populations”
Here's some personal data covering the last 1-2 months...
week-to-week % change in total £
-
week-to-week % change in £ per person
As you can see, Week 7 vs Week 6 was a 37% decrease. The only week where appearance wasn't maintained.
While customer flow and engagement time with customers do vary, the only major difference during Week 6 vs 7 was my grooming routine, suggesting a strong correlation.
Week 6 is a peak week.
What changed?
- Haircut week, face-lifting moisturiser, new fragrance,
This is personal data. I am still mapping this out, I just thought it would be interesting to share. If you would have told me 6 months ago that looks matter as much as they do, I would have argued status is more important. But, as I have focused on my appearance more, and ascended, especially the oral area with whitening + braces being off, I have noticed an overall improvement in responses to people across the board from both genders.
Looksmaxing is not cope. Small investments in grooming and appearance will measurably improve outcomes in both service roles and social interactions.
I have a lot of women around me, all of the time. Physical contact, orbiting, body language, all of these have directly increased as a result of me taking care of myself. I have noticed a considerable and substantial improvement in compliments, and overall social experience with both genders over the last few months. This post covers the last 2 months of my experience of getting a part time job as a waiter.
Don't underestimate the importance of looks! I will continue to expand on this data, and create a more detailed post in a few months time. Thank you for reading.

Side note:
I'm not someone who smiles all the time, nor am I someone who does well for prolonged periods of social activity. I have an extremely low social battery and find myself wanting to be alone 90% of the day. Being a waiter has pulled me out of my solitary shell. It's been really good for me so far, and I truly recommend absolutely anybody lacking social skills to get a job as a waiter/waitress. It will do WONDERS! God bless you all and keep ascending. It's changed my life, and it will do yours too.

1. Dixson & Brooks (2013) – “The role of facial hair in women’s perceptions of men’s attractiveness, health, masculinity and parenting abilities”
- Participants: Women from the US and Australia
- Method: Women rated photographs of men with clean-shaven, light stubble (~5 days), heavy stubble (~10 days), and full beard
- Findings: Light stubble rated most attractive; full beards signalled masculinity/dominance but less universally attractive

2. Neave & Shields (2008) – “The effects of facial hair manipulation on female perceptions of attractiveness, masculinity, and dominance in male faces”
- Participants: Women (number varies by sample)
- Method: Women rated photos of men with varying facial hair (clean-shaven, stubble, beard) on attractiveness, masculinity, and dominance
- Findings: Moderate stubble signals maturity and masculinity without appearing too aggressive
- Link: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.paid.2007.07.003
3. Dixson, Lee, et al. (2017) – “Facial hair affects perceptions of men’s age, health, and attractiveness in diverse populations”
- Participants: Women from multiple countries
- Method: Similar photo rating task across different cultures
- Findings: Light stubble remained the most attractive across cultures; full beards less universally appealing
