This post is not meant to strike panic. Approach with calm mind
if you’ve been feeling weird and can’t figure out why, you might wanna get your thyroid checked for hypothyroidism (low thyroid hormone production). I suspect there is an epidemic of hypothyroidism in young males currently ongoing, and issue lies somewhere in the past 20-30 years, possibly linked to stress, diabetes, xenoestrogens, microplastics, heavy metals, etc, etc, etc. Every zoomer puffed on vape, imagine how much heavy metal from that chinese disposable vape was inhaled. some metals are able to bind to thyroid, thus damaging receptors. But from my research, the #1 cause is chronic stress.
Having hypothyrodism as a young male = death, incel tier shell of a man. Stunted growth during puberty, young looking puffy face guaranteed.
Read symptoms below to check
1 - Always super sleepy. You can sleep for 8-10 hours, and still wake up tired. You might take few naps around the day.
2 - Easy weight gain
3 - Muscle hurt all the time, and a lot after moderate to heavy exercise. General muscle weakness, can often be noticed the most during mornings.
4 - Always very cold, especially in the mornings. Quick check is to measure your temperature as soon as you wake up. If it's low, that's a risk factor for sure
5 - Can’t focus or think clearly, brain fog, sluggish thoughts
6 - Depression, low mood, anxiety
7 - Hair thinning or eyebrows disappearing
8 - Low sex drive, possibly weaker erections (not biologically induced, but rather psychological).
9 - Constipated a lot
10 - Skin is very dry, especially on palms
11 - Random joint pain
12 - Puffy face with fluid retention, tired dull look
13 - Muscle cramps out of nowhere
14 - Nails breaking easily
But ultimately, don't stress too much. Hypothyroidism is infamously known by doctors as one of the most common factitious disorders, and its symptoms are super similar to regular depression, or something else entirely. Only way to know is to do a test, it's like 30 bucks on Quest I think.
Good luck and hopefully this helps someone
