I've seen some say their dermatologists recommend being on Tretinoin for like 2 months before introducing chemical exfoliants. I assume so they can get past the 'drying phase'.

Sounds like you could try BHA in the AM and see if it's too much for your skin or not.

than you shouldn't do it tbh. retin-a is a decent exfoliater itself.
