Actual eyeball size doesn't vary so much. From what I can remember from my anatomy textbooks, the eyes aren't perfectly circular, that varies between person. The diameter of the eyeballs are 25mm to 34mm or somewhere around an inch.
What makes eyes look big is the relative size of the skull; pretty much all babies have 'bigger eyes' than they do as an adult. This contributes greatly to what makes babies so irresistibly cute
