Almost all oils, chemically know as fatty acids, have the ability of clogging your pores once you apply them on your skin. This ability is called comedogenity [1]. Oils and other chemicals have a comedogenity rating [2] based on how much acne they can cause.
In some countries, tretinoin is commercialized in a formulation which includes oils in the excipients. This happens in my country where the tretinoin sold in pharmacies has stearic acid, main component of pork fat, in the ingredients.
Luckily tretinoin in USA should be safe, because it contains silicones as excipients [3]
