Before you needed to wear braces for 1-2 years, then after this you had the surgery, then you are wired shut for like a month, after that you would need braces for another 1-2 years. The overall process could literally be 3-4 years from your first visit, til you are completely done and braces are off and everything.

Nowadays you got surgery first approach, where they will literally give you the surgery without having to wear braces before, just so that you can get your results before having to wait so long. Also you can choose to wear invisalign instead of braces afterwards, and depending on your occlusion, they may only be required for 6-7 months. Also its becoming less and less common to wire jaw shut. So basically, at this moment in history, jaw surgery can LITERALLY happen a few months after your first appointment with NO jaw wired shut afterwards, and your braces will basically go off by the time the swelling is completely gone.

Watched yesterday some videos from maxilo instisture from barcelona, and surgeon said that only 15% patients qualify for surgery first in their clinic dunno how much % in other places

I have to have presurgical orthodontics for at least 6 months and have 4 extractions for my bimax + mini chin wing.

It is what it is.

This is just in my condition
