Yes 10mm is a lot, its worth it, but if your maxilla is good you can just get bsso

face picks would be the best. almost bimax covers both upper and lower jaw, so say ur chin is the only thing recessed due to ur overbite however ur maxillary development is fine, in that case u dont need bimax, insted soemthing like genio or bsso

not neccicarily, if ur maxilla is well developed u dont need bimax, if u already have a overbtie u probably have maxillary recession too but i cant tell until i see a photo or a xray

sometimes surgeons will recommend just lower jaw surgery for class 2 malocclusion and some will recommend both, just make sure your surgeon is not a bluepilled coper and completely botches your face for "function". Obviously you want function but there's ways to get it functionally and aesthetically pleasing given your bones aren't trash to begin with.

do some research on ideal facial ratios and maxilla and mandible placement, take charge of your own bones and look at before and after pics of the surgeons work
