-Its very expensive. Most people have mortgages, kids, bills to pay. Or they make poor spending decisions. Why get jaw surgery when you can go on holiday, have a wedding, buy designer clothes or get drugs, tobacco or alcohol. Where are they getting £20,000+ for jaw surgery?
-Not enough surgeons to meet a potential surge in demand. Your looking at 14+ years to become a maxilliofacial surgeon.
-Its a very invasive surgery. Alot of people will be too scared to do it. There are risk of complications and relaspe.
-Brutal recovery period.
-Your looking at about 2 years total treatment time. Most people don't want to wear wire braces which is usually required for jaw surgery.
-Most people are not subhuman enough to consider jaw surgery. There has to be something "wrong" with you physically or mentally to geniuenly want jaw surgery.

I could see cosmetic surgery becoming mainstream but people will get the cheaper/instant fix surgeries. If cosmetic surgery becomes mainstream it will be fillers, implants and veneers dominating the market. Rhinoplasty and blepharoplasty etc in the middle and osteotomies such as jaw surgery and leg lengthening at the bottom.
