20 year old guy lowkey struggling. I don't even mean to come across like a victim, but this addiction is brutal.

Has anyone else gained a shit load of weight through binge eating like a fatass? I start and feel like I can't stop, each new binge somehow feels even harder to control than the last.

Also I ain't fat, like 20% body fat.

binge eating is rough, it’s easy to get stuck in that cycle, but you can work on small habits to regain control, tracking meals, eating consistently, and not letting one binge spiral can help, it’s about building structure, not shaming yourself

I appreciate it. I was diagnosed with binge eating disorder but the line between genuine struggle and blatant personal failure is very blurry, especially considering societal norms.

Problem is I consistently fall back into the same spirals, my diet could be flawless for a week with the perfect weightlifting routine and I'll still find myself binging. I feel like I can't "just stop", like the behavior has become blended in with my identity - if that makes sense.

yeah, it sounds like you’re stuck in a tough cycle, maybe try breaking it into small steps, like having structured meals, planning for triggers, and not punishing yourself when it happens, therapy or a support group can really help, you’re not defined by the binges

sierra roselyn has made a few youtube videos about this that have been pretty helpful for me. a lot of what she says is based in the same methodology cbt and dbt use for addiction treatment
