I’m 17.5. I had an Orthotropic appointment. The doctor took measurements, pictures, and had me do a few tests. Her plan is to have me use Biobloc for horizontal and forward expansion. Also said Alf possibly. I want to know if I would see much appearance change with the BioBloc? The doctor is knowledgeable, and is sure I would see changes. I’m still unsure though because I hear very mixed opinions on it. Has anybody here had Biobloc? Is it worth it? Will I see changes with it at my age?
@Jarate I saw that you said, you had it.

Your first mistake was to choose a female doctor.

You will definitely see changes, depends how much you are facially cucked

However, it’s a HUGE commitment, you cannot wear it in public (can’t talk normally with it = social status death )

I had great changes with 12 hours average, maybe you could ascend with 16 hours
My teeth are way better aligned than before because my orthodontist was shit

My palate got way wider, enough to sustain my results

But big warning : your side profile changes will be minimal / underwhelming

Ideal plan for me: biobloc + bimax

She showed me result of one of her male patients in his 20s, he got slight facial upswing. Did you see any upswing?

Also retarded question tbh, but would I see better results if paired with NCR and steroids?

hey man do you have any more info about this. I am in the same situation . I am considering biobloc to fix my crooked chin and jaw.

never got it. I know @mvp2v1 has or had it though
I did biobloc. It widened my upper and lower (upper and lower expander): Positive: expanded my midface, made my mouth wider, generally improved my looks. Downsides: more flaring of teeth than ideal. What percentage of expansion in IMW actually is from bone expansion vs just flaring? I dont know i havent gotten a follow up cbct yet. if i had to guess it was 50% bone change and rest teeth.

I dont regret it however these days for poeple who need significant expansion i would choose FME (not marpe or mse). Just make sure your arch dosnt become shorter during the treatment at the same time.

I put an order for this

I was wondering if I should cancel and buy a biobloc appliance instead but it seems there’s too much risk of excessive teeth flaring especially on the front with biobloc but I did lose support under my upper lip and philtrum so idk, and idk if it would even do much anyways because I’m 17.5

I wish I could do FME but shits too expensive and difficult to access (need to travel)

all those things you fear with biobloc you should fear with this applience. and its not so much the applience as it is how you manage it. so i hope your highly knowledgable in this because its not easy.

This is lateral expansion only, so assuming the front teeth isn’t effected in any way

I have someone helping me with this but they are very much against using biobloc for the reasons I mentioned

I’ve however been thinking and researching about if the push on the front teeth in biobloc can be mitigated or managed even though the person I’m working with says no

Another major issue with biobloc for me is the fact that it seemingly makes day to day communication very difficult, much more than this appliance

The biobloc only affects the front teeth if you want it to. You have to literally deform the front wire for them to provide any force. So whoever your working with Dosnt know what they are talking about. And secondly the applience your using is practically the same as biobloc there will be no difference in your weared experience. Still I would opt for FME, at this point. Unless you’re happy with your facial width already and only need minor jaw size increase.

So you’re saying this has no practical difference to biobloc? Because the same website that sells this sells biobloc but at a higher cost.

I would much prefer getting FME but the costs and access to it are a major barrier to me. This is a lot cheaper and hence why I went for it. I doubt there would be any aesthetic changes, because it’s tooth borne and I’m 17.5. However my main aim with this is to get a bigger smile arch, some more space for my tongue and a wider mouth.

Check out jaw hacks on youtube he pretty knowledgeable in this field
