The only reason China isn't just mass enslaving and getting rid of Africans is because it would be opposed by the west. China could never get away with it without sparking a major international incident.

And Europe could get those resources anyway, even without providing aid. Even you say, they were taking resources from Africa anyway. Which is not entirely true because the colonies cost more to run than the benefit that they gave Europe. That's why they gave up the colonies so easily. The colonies were a net drain.
