Eyebrow visibility is overrated probably and Carmack's blond eyebrows do show up against his pink skin (as blond eyebrows usually do).

Blonds have very high chromatic contrast. Blue eyes, golden hair and pink skin are wildly different hues (from different parts of the "colour wheel").

They don't have much contrast in terms of luminosity (lightness vs darkness), but I think that's irrelevant for male colouring or even a failo altogether.
