There ARE benefits from being that self aware. Now I know what situations should I avoid and when do I benefit from my looks

That just an habit like any other. You just gotta break it. That also comes with stopping to look at yourself in the mirror or camera over and over. They are all habits who hinder your confidence and performance in social settings a lot. But they are just that, habits. With enough effort you can break them.

Self awareness is one thing and is much different from self consciousness. One is rational while the other is emotional. Most people are driven by feelings and not reason.
