There is always someone better, all of it explained by hypergamy. If anything, ascension means acquiring a certain power using your looks that will hold up well for a while until you realize:
1. That you can't be fooled anymore, and you can't fall in love once you know it's all a scam
2. That nature is cruel
3. Our instincts are shallow
4. We are all materialistic
