So I open the laptop like a proper high-IQ moneymaxxer.
Finance spreadsheet on screen.
Savings tab looking fat.
Columns colour-coded. I am, in my head, about to deliver the most devastating money mog of 2026.
I start pointing at the numbers like I’m presenting a quarterly earnings call

“Look how much I’ve got sat in savings.”
She’s nodding. Fine. Going well.
Then I casually drop that I spent £300 on a top.
Not even flexing that hard, just setting the scene.
Fashion boy lore. Taste. Discipline.
The whole bit.
I follow it up with what I thought was a clean kill shot "I was a fashion boy before you were even a fashion girl".
Silence for half a second.
Then she looks at me, dead in the eyes, and goes "Yeah but you're not a model though are you".
And laughs. Proper laughs. In my face.
I sat there with the spreadsheet still open like an idiot. Excel mogged by a sentence
£300 top instantly became a cope item. Fashion boy era officially closed mid-sentence.
The savings number that felt massive 30 seconds earlier suddenly looked like pocket money for someone who gets paid to stand still and look better than you.
I closed the laptop.
Thread over.
Career over.
Fashion boy over.
Money mog attempt 0-1.
Someone tell me this is just a character-building arc
