back in middle school we all where asigned to read this memuar by a deformed guy about his life in high school, he was totally normal in every way exept his face was burn victim tier fucked up, even after having surgeries and treatments. basically everyone was scared and offput by his appearence. everyone but his very close friend was weird around him, and of course no girls would go near him. but the most brutal part was how everyone would stare and change their behavior aound him. not sure if they needed to treat him like some special needs kit or not. despite his totally normal mental and physical development otherwise.
the saddest part is that he said his favorate holoday was haloween. he could wear a mask and for one night he was just a normal kid, and adults/other kids would act normally twards him.

was definently an interesting book but i dont think most of us understood it at the time.
