I used to be a gay hip hop nerd who would try to be different and glaze kendrick and other shitty artists then i became a pretentious cinephile and gamer, now im metacritical where i hate the normies and the people who think they arent normies with their "elevated taste" in which they got from tiktok and they constantly regurgitate arguments from influencers to support all their media opinions instead of listening/watching/playing themselves and forming their own opinion. In short im a miserable prick who cant enjoy almost anything new.

I remember mocking people for liking drake and i remember being a slave to external validation, "oh you like x movie it has 35% on rotten tomatoes" Now i enjoy some drake songs casually and appreciate movies and media i actually like regardless of ratings, but i find that now my issue is that im super contrarian if something is good 7/10 but people say it's a 10/10 im inclined to hate it eg the odyssey, project hail mary and expedition 33. Tbh id rather be like this than a mindless normie who can enjoy anything.
