I’ve always had trouble fitting in, my earliest memory in school was in TK, I was sitting on the bench alone since I struggled to make friends and talk to people, and the kids in my grade were suddenly asking me to say the word Apple since I had never spoken to anyone. I said Apple and everyone was acting like I had just cured cancer, I’m not sure why but in that moment I felt accepted, even if I had just said one simple word, making people notice me and see I was able to talk was enough for me. Always felt conflicted with that story though, anytime there’s a crowd of people now I just want to get a room and be alone.
