Bonesmashing advice

I just started bonesmashing( I’m using fletches technique) but if I use ice to try and get rid of the redness will it undo the “pump” of the smash if so could I use tinted bb cream to cover it? Also is bonsesmashing decent for a mandible pump or just good on brow ridge and zygos
