yeah ik im a grey and shit but you get my point

atp add a tutorial for greys on how to use the obvious fucking magnifying glass at the top right of their screen so they don't flood the forum with slop questions

The idea is to cause tension in the bone to adapt and increase in thickness. You can definitely cause tension with a dense object, but getting actual growth isn't super likely but over time you might get some gains. Hard chewing would be more likely to get you increase because the natural method of tension for a bone is the result of muscles pulling on the bone, so cyclical loading through chewing could improve your zygomatic arch. This is all speculative though, but I'd say chewing is way better than bonesmashing.

Edit: Also it should be obvious that its not good for your face to constantly be swelling.

the principle its based on (Wolffs law) actually says you need to apply load, like from weight training, with mechanical force from bending or stretching. For the already somewhat weak facial bones, youre more likely to catch a fracture before any bone growth

yeah, that's why I said tension, because you have to use a dense enough object that you aren't just causing blunt trauma and are actually bending the bone from inside. Its just mechanistic speculation tho because there have been 0 studies on bonesmashing lmao

I feel like bonesmashing atp should just be natural selection
