does bs work? yes!
but it does NOT provide bone growth

THE COPE:
first off people have this warped idea that bone remodeling is done by adding bone on top of preexisting bone, this is completely false.
bone remodeling (wolffs law) refers to using mechanical load on bones to increase said bones density but the excess bone is not nearly enough to cause any sort of cosmetic changes.
(bone density ≠ bone size)

Another thing im going to add is pairing bs with supplements (😭😭)
ive seen plenty of posts claiming bs paired with some sort of vitamin or supplement (usually d3+k2) can aid in bone remodeling. While this is true, it simply speeds up the process and will not result in any sort of visible changes.

(also for all the iqlets asking for a certain rep and set range, all i can say is that similar to body building their is no magical amount of sets or reps that will give you the most growth, the actual “magic number” lies in the force behind each blow, which is roughly a massage gun or knuckle)

THE FACTS:
repeated hits to the face causes swelling and micro fractures to the bone. If you are to keep hitting the same spot the body will start to remodel bone as stated above and it will trigger an overactive healing response (fibrosis).
HOW IT WORKS:
after bs the damaged cells in your body will release chemical signals like TGF-β (Transforming Growth Factor-beta) and PDGF (Platelet-Derived Growth Factor) these are powerful proteins that control tissue repair and cell growth. This process is what drives another mechanism called differentiation, TGF-β triggers intracellular signaling and α-SMA production, in short fibroblasts go on overdrive and turn into myofibroblasts which cause collagen to buildup into thick rigid skin tissue.

my results:
First off i only bs my chin and gonions since ive always had the lower third of a toddler, my goal was to give my chin a more squared look from the front and a more projected look from the side, i smashed my gonions to give a flared appearance from the front and i bs the back to help fix a quite obtuse gonial angle and give my head as a whole a more defined and squared look

(the before is NOT my base, these photos were taken roughly 3 months apart)
i tried to keep the angle the same, neither are a complete side profile but i didnt really have many pictures of myself.
