My aunt just got to town for the weekend. I’ve been listening to my parents talk to her from a room over, and they got to the topic of vaccines. She’s a nurse and got the covid vax, and was talking about a phenomenon called “covid arm” I think. Apparently she and a bunch of people basically got pain and a rash all over their arm for days after the vaccine.

Then my dad mentioned how the shingles vaccine made him sick for a week and gave him a ton of arm and shoulder pain. But the shingles was a two part vaccine and he still went back and got the second one, which made him sick again.

These retards all get sick from vaccines but still blindly believe that they are helpful and downright necessary for good health. When I tried to explain the bs around vaccines to my mom she sperged out bc “her grandma had polio.” Muh Muh Muh.

Some people would rather die then wake up.

Why would you want a vaccine that is basically a modified version of the virus that you'll have forever in you, if you never even caught the virus to begin with?

My parents are pretty intelligent and conutercultural but even so theyre basically the same way. As soon as their hippie countercultural opinions about things become unfashionable or the media countersignals them in any way they completely abandon them and start regurgitating the mainstream dogma like they've believed it all along. My moms a hardcore environmentalist type and i stg if tomorrow they came out with a whispery radio doc on npr by some team of jews that said that global warming isnt real and plastic is actually good shed instantly change the basis of her entire worldview with zero self awareness or reflection as to how contradictory it was.

My boomer dad literally tried to lecture me the other day on internet culture as if he were some kind of expert because he read a few articles on google news about the reddit wallstreet thing

He regularly has to ask me to help him do basic tasks on the computer while I was effectively raised by internet culture but when i tried to contradict him and explain the basics of what reddit was he was completely dismissive and acted like he was some sort of expert because hed read 1000 words of some clickbait propaganda lmao.

Jesus christ son this is the holy word. My mom is exactly the same, she evens listened to those whispery NPR shows whenever I was in the car with her and all it took was one of those shows and an MSNBC article to make her believe something. All her 30-60 year old female friends are the same, they just regurgitate whatever the read the most about online and on the NBC or ABC TV channel and they flip and flop like every other month on issues that they were supposedly so sure about. Just last year they were talking about how press freedom was under attack and how our election process is so unfair because it disenfranchises this and that group, but now they laugh when they see conservative or non mainstream news organizations getting shut down on their web servers and they talk about how there is zero evidence of any problems with the election process

Yep well said that first part especially. Boomers are the most narcy generation in recent history if not ever, and one of the first who are for the most part incapable of accepting mortality and aging. They all think they should get their healthcare and social security and whatever handed out to them. And since they got to ride the debt cycle for so long they’ve got the money to pay for politicians. They’ll just keep riding the debt wave until they die and as their “wealth” and debt are wiped they’ll implode the whole fuckin economy. Never been a more selfish generation.
